Tony Nguyen Aram, MD, Medical Director
Tony Aram, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon actively performing surgeries in his Northern Virginia private practice. He has pioneered the development of minimally invasive and robotic procedures in metro Washington DC area, and teaches robotic guided surgery techniques to physicians from all over the world.
Dr. Aram is a Cum Laude graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine and studied orthopedics at the University of Pittsburgh where he excelled in the field of Joint Reconstruction, Trauma and Sports Medicine. He is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) and is a Fellow of both the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKA), and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).
Role in Robotic Development
Dr. Aram combines advanced imaging technology, software and powerful computer processing to create 3-dimesional models to study the patient’s diseased knee and to plan an anatomic surgical reconstruction. His focus is in Joint Reconstruction using robotics and computer navigation to achieve his goal on constructing the perfect knee in every patient.
Educating Physicians and Community on Robotic Surgery Techniques
Robotic orthopedic surgery provides superior outcomes for both patients and physicians, however not all patients are candidates for this technique and should be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Dr. Aram holds frequent educational lectures for the community and training conferences and courses for physicians throughout the United States.
